Sara Ashton LaRosa is an associate with Leake Andersson. Her practice focuses primarily on the areas of insurance defense, personal injury, property, and transportation.
Prior to joining Leake Andersson, Sara Ashton represented insurance companies in various areas of litigation including insurance defense, transportation, personal injury, hurricane damage, and coverage. She is an experienced litigator, with personal experience conducting both jury and bench trials involving issues of personal injury and insurance defense.
Sara Ashton earned her law degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. While attending Loyola, Sara Ashton received the highest grade in Lawyering II, which includes Loyola’s Moot Court coursework. She served as the Substance and Citation Editor of The Loyola Current Maritime Law Journal and had an article published in the journal in spring 2017 entitled “Applicability of the Limitation of Liability Act to Personal Watercrafts.” Sara Ashton also clerked for Hon. Robin Giarrusso in the Civil District Court for Orleans Parish and Hon. Fredericka Wicker with the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal. She worked with Prof. John Lovett as a research assistant in the area of property law and a teaching assistant for Prof. Sandi Varnado’s donations and successions course.
Sara Ashton earned her undergraduate degree from Mississippi State University. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and served as a member of Maroon VIP, a group that serves the Welcome Center and any other University department requesting the services of tours, information and events.

Originally from Pass Christian, Mississippi, Sara Ashton now lives in Old Metairie with her daughter (Felicity), husband (Alec), and their corgi (Stein). She loves college football and keeps her cowbell at the office.
